Short Duration Bonds: A Compelling Alternative to Traditional Fixed Income

When considering allocations to fixed income, short duration convertible bonds should not be overlooked. With elevated yields on the short end of the curve and an uncertain pace of further rate cuts, we believe investors can take advantage of opportunities in short duration convertible bonds rather than endure the risk of longer duration fixed income. Short duration corporate bonds with convertible features can potentially offer attractive yields with differentiated sources of return while limiting interest rate risk.

Palisade Mourns the Loss of Co-Founder Jack Feiler

    Dear Friends and Clients,

With profound sadness, we share the news of Palisade co-founder Jack Feiler’s passing on April 29, 2026. An enduring force behind Palisade Capital Management’s 30+ year history, Jack’s life and career were defined by integrity and an unwavering commitment to his family, clients, colleagues, and the principles upon which Palisade was built. His loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jack was a remarkable individual, investment professional, and family man. Throughout his distinguished career, Jack demonstrated an exceptional ability to navigate complex markets with discipline, insight, and perspective — always focused on serving his client’s best interests. He was a trusted advisor, a thoughtful mentor, and a man of uncommon character. Those who worked alongside Jack were fortunate to witness firsthand his quick wit, dedication to excellence, and genuine care for the people around him.

Though Jack stepped back from day-to-day involvement at Palisade several years ago, the high standard of excellence he set for all of us is his enduring legacy. Even in retirement, Jack took great pride in the firm he helped create and the relationships he established over many decades of hard work. Those relationships were built on a foundation of trust and selfless dedication to clients, lessons we are reminded of every day.

Jack’s legacy lives in all of us, especially through his son, Michael Feiler, who continues to hold a prominent leadership role on Palisade’s Private Wealth Management team, as well in Michael’s brother Larry and through Jack’s six beloved grandchildren. Jack would be so proud to share that Michael embodies the same values of integrity and selfless dedication to client service that Jack championed throughout his career. Michael’s continued presence and leadership at the firm, and his continued work with many of the same families Jack assisted during his career, is a testament to the enduring impact of Jack’s life and work.

We ask you to keep the Feiler family in your thoughts during this difficult time. Jack’s impact on Palisade, on the investment community, and on the lives of those he touched will never be forgotten. We are honored to carry his memory with us as we continue to serve you with the same commitment and care that he instilled in this firm from its earliest days.

  • Palisade Mourns Loss of Partner Frank Galdi

Palisade Mourns Loss of Partner Frank Galdi

With deep sadness, we share the news of the tragic passing of our Partner and dear friend, Frank O. Galdi, on February 1, 2026.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Frank’s family—especially his wife, Angie, and his daughters, Olivia and Christina—as well as Frank’s extended family, many of whom we have come to know over the years. Frank was not only a respected leader at Palisade, but also a trusted colleague and dear friend whose impact on our firm and culture will be felt for years to come.

Frank was a valued member of Palisade’s team for more than a decade. Although he had recently been on personal leave from the firm, Frank’s contributions since joining Palisade in 2014 were significant. Frank was a mentor to many, a thoughtful and dedicated professional, and a colleague who consistently held himself and those around him to the highest standards. He worked tirelessly on behalf of the firm and its clients and had a remarkable ability to connect with people with warmth, humility, and sincerity.

Frank’s career reflected both intellectual rigor and deep integrity. He earned his M.B.A. in Finance and his B.A. in Accounting from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. He began his career at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company before joining Bear Stearns & Co., where he became a Managing Director and Principal. He later joined New York Life Insurance Company’s wealth management division, serving in senior leadership roles including Vice President, Head of Investment Strategy and Risk Management, and Chairman of the Investment Committee, with responsibility for risk oversight and investment due diligence.

Frank initially joined Palisade as Chief Risk Officer and was subsequently named Deputy Chief Investment Officer. In recognition of his leadership and meaningful contributions, he became a Partner in 2023 as part of Palisade’s first class of new equity holders since the firm’s founding in 1995.

At Palisade, Frank had overall responsibility for the firm’s risk management framework, performance measurement and analytics, and due diligence related to new investment strategies and strategic initiatives. Under Frank’s leadership, the firm’s risk management team was significantly enhanced to include longstanding Palisade employee Jonathan Masarof, Senior Vice President, Risk Management & Portfolio Analytics, and, in 2018, Amrita Thapa, CFA, Managing Director, Risk Management and Client Solutions, with whom Frank had previously worked at New York Life Insurance Company’s wealth management division.

Amrita Thapa, CFA works closely with senior leadership across the firm to identify and assess risk at both the portfolio and business levels. She has been deeply involved in these responsibilities for several years. Jonathan Masarof has been with Palisade for over 15 years and has extensive experience managing and enhancing the firm’s analytics and reporting infrastructure. In line with our long-standing succession plan, Jonathan and Amrita will continue in their roles and report directly to Dan Veru, Palisade’s Senior Partner and Chief Investment Officer. Firmwide business risk continues to be evaluated by senior management and is regularly reviewed by Palisade’s Operating Committee.

We remain committed to serving our clients with the same care, discipline, and integrity that Frank exemplified throughout his career. For those who wish to share condolences or memories of Frank, we have established a dedicated email address at condolences@palcap.com.

  • Fourth Quarter Review and Outlook 2025

Fourth Quarter Review and Outlook 2025

What just happened? In a challenging environment – geopolitical, fiscal, and otherwise – markets showed tremendous resilience. The spring brought sweeping tariff announcements from the returning Trump administration, but these were quickly countered by resets and negotiations that only added to market uncertainty – and markets hate uncertainty. Still, equities recovered from their April dip. 2025 also now owns the distinction of featuring the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, as well as significant geopolitical events in Ukraine, the Middle East, and Venezuela—all of which only added more uncertainty to the hazy picture.

Palisade Capital Management Appoints Christopher Henderson to Operating Committee

Palisade Capital Management announced today that Christopher Henderson, CFA has been appointed to the firm’s Operating Committee as a senior member of Palisade’s management team, effective January 1, 2026. The appointment follows the planned retirement of James M. Marrone, Jr. at the end of 2025.

Chris joined Palisade in July 2023 as Managing Director and Head of Business Development and has since played a key role in advancing the firm’s institutional growth strategy, strengthening client relationships and expanding investor engagement across Palisade’s platforms. In his role, Chris leads the firm’s institutional business development and client partnership efforts, working closely with Palisade’s investment and client service teams to support long-term, strategic relationships.

In his expanded role on the Operating Committee, Chris will contribute to firmwide strategic planning, business development, and growth initiatives, helping guide Palisade’s continued evolution as a leading independent investment manager. Additionally, Chris’s title will change to “Managing Director, Head of Distribution and Relationship Management” to better reflect his role at the firm.

“It is an honor to join Palisade’s Operating Committee and to take on a broader leadership role at such an exciting time for the firm,” said Chris Henderson. “Palisade has an exceptional culture, a disciplined investment process, and a deep commitment to clients. I look forward to working with our leadership team to build on that foundation and support the firm’s long-term growth.”

“Chris has made a meaningful impact in a relatively short period of time,” said Alison Berman, Managing Partner, President & Chief Executive Officer of Palisade. “He brings a thoughtful, strategic approach to business development and client engagement, and his perspective will be an important asset to our Operating Committee as we continue to invest in Palisade’s future.”

The appointment coincides with the retirement of Jim Marrone, who was a valued member of Palisade’s leadership team and a key contributor to the firm’s institutional business over the past decade.

Chris holds a B.S. in Finance from Boston College and is a CFA® Charterholder. Prior to joining Palisade, he held senior business development and client-focused roles at several leading investment management firms, bringing more than two decades of experience in institutional client relations and strategic growth.
